Carmel Corn: Submitted by: Karen | Date Added: 21 Aug 2016 Ingredients:

3 c. white sugar
1 c. white Karo syrup
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 sticks BUTTER
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Cooking Instructions:

Pop about 6 or 7 qts. of popcorn. You can use either yellow or white, however,I prefer the white. Put in a large metal bowl.

In a HEAVY pan, (I use my 8 qt. pressure cooker pan) put the following:
3 c. white sugar
1 c. white Karo syrup
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 sticks BUTTER

Cook to 300 degres on a candy thermometer. Remove from stove.

Add:
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

After adding the soda, stir until it will becomes foamy. Pour over the popped corn and stir until all kernels are covered. NOTE: THE SYRUP IS VERY HOT, SO BE CAREFUL NOT TO BURN YOUR FINGERS WHILE STIRRING! Spread onto a cookie sheet and let cool. Enjoy!
